Recently at the United Printing Expo, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, we recorded a printing organization panel for the RMGT Elite User Group about the latest printer innovations and then later a product demonstration of their featured printer.
We used two technicians/cameras one was stationary filming the speakers and the other was tasked with grabbing as much footage of different angles of not only speakers, but the audience as well so editors would have different shots and angles available for editing transitions.
How did we capture audio?
To record audio of the RMGT speakers, we had to connect to the PA system with a wireless transmitter and receiver that we use when we can’t run wires
Whenever the printer was turned on there would be a loud alarm sounding but fortunately, we had the speakers use handheld directional microphones and we managed to keep the background noise away from the microphone and in the end capture beautifully clear audio.
We had requested AC power but it couldn’t be provided because they didn’t want us to run wires, so we relied on our battery power. Fortunately, we prepared and brought enough batteries.
The area wasn’t brightly lit but we were able to cope with it.
In total all the footage came out perfectly. The client was very happy and satisfied with our work as usual. We look forward to working with them in the future
